Information systems academics and professionals from around the world will meet at ESADE on 10th-13th June to showcase latest research in the field at the 20th European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS 2012). ESADE is the host of this year’s conference, which is today considered the premier information systems event in Europe.
“The conference will be showcasing 23 innovative tracks that encourage academic rigour while embracing intellectual risk and exploration,” according to Jonathan Wareham, Vice -Dean of Research at ESADE and General Chair of the conference. Among others topics, tracks will include Business Intelligence and Knowledge Management, IS Security and Privacy, Enterprise Transformation, IT for Global Welfare and Sustainability, E-health, IT Global Services and Cloud Computing, and ECIS 2012 will bring together over 600 professionals in the field and will provide a platform for panel discussions and the presentation of peer-reviewed academic research. “We had 841 research submissions, of which all were double-blind reviewed. We accepted 241, for an acceptance rate of 29%,” said Wareham.
The first keynote address will be given by CERN Research Director, Sergio Bertolucci, who will explore the topic of ‘Big Data at CERN’.
ECIS is considered the premier information systems event in Europe and provides a platform for the presentation of peer-reviewed academic research and networking with information systems academics and professionals. All submissions are double-blind reviewed and recent acceptance rates have been close to 30%. The electronic version of the conference proceedings will be available publicly at the AIS Electronic Library.
